Divisions within Israel's wartime: The government has become more openly apparent after almost three months of its military campaign against Hamas in the Gaza Strip.

On Friday morning the public saw a dispute among prominent Israeli politicians, with one source characterizing it as a "fight" during a security cabinet meeting. The disagreement revolved around determining the best course of action in response to the Hamas attacks on Israel on October 7.

There have been instances of public disputes regarding the Gaza post-war strategy.

But there are some between them who are coming forward to use their artistic medium for peace, like Amal Abu al-Sabah.

Amal Abu al-Sabah, aged 26, uses the remnants of Israel's military attack on Rafa in southern Gaza as her artistic medium. The destroyed structures that were once Palestinian homes now serve as her canvases.

“Instead of looking for undamaged areas, I specifically sought out houses that were destroyed and had innocent civilians trapped inside. For example, I found this house, from which more than 10 bodies were recovered from beneath the wreckage.” She said.

Amal, who hails from central Gaza, was forcefully uprooted from her homeland. Despite the challenging circumstances, she managed to flee, determined to prolong her existence. In the midst of chaos, Amal staunchly held on to her paintbrushes, unwavering in her commitment to depict the unwavering strength of the Palestinian people. Through her art, she sought to transform their grim reality into vivid recollections of unwavering endurance.

“To convey a powerful message to all Arab nations, I chose to create this mural using a wide range of colors. The pictures depicted herein affirm our unwavering commitment to our homeland, asserting that we will never abandon it.” Amal said.

Amal is filled with hope as she finishes her mural, titled Gaza 2024, believing that after the war, there will be a chance for a fresh start. This sentiment was expressed by Julie Degas of Al Jazeera.
